Who we are
The IRC was launched by multisectoral founding partners in September 2021. Partners represent the professional respiratory community, patients and industry.
Our aims and vision
The aim of the IRC is to promote lung health and improve respiratory care. Our vision is for every country to have the tools to implement a national respiratory strategy based on best practice.
A catalyst for change
The outbreak of COVID-19 placed increased pressure on respiratory services, whilst limiting access to routine care and essential health services. Gaps exposed by the pandemic need urgent attention. Despite its devastating effect on people’s lives, the COVID-19 catastrophe can be a catalyst for positive change in healthcare systems.GLOBAL STATISTICS
The IRC aims to support a reduction in deaths from respiratory diseases by a third, by 2030

Lung Facts: make a case for change
The Lung Facts resource is a web-based advocacy tool, which presents key epidemiological and economic data for major respiratory conditions across WHO Europe, and by each WHO Europe country. Use this data to make a case for change in your country, or to raise the profile of lung health.
