  • About the coalition

The Greek Respiratory Coalition was launched in 2022 as the national coalition of respiratory clinicians, patients and industry partners.

Its mission is to develop clear, measurable national strategies to transform respiratory care in Greek society and contribute to the IRC’s global goal of reducing respiratory disease-related mortality by a third by 2030, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

    The coalition’s strategic priorities are:

    • Prevention of respiratory diseases through implementing preventative approaches, increasing vaccination coverage across all ages and addressing the impacts of climate change and environmental pollution
    • Reducing inequalities by putting people and their rights at the centre of respiratory health, addressing social determinants of poor health and prioritising marginalised and hard-to-reach communities
    • Access to the right treatment at the right time through lung health checks for earlier and more accurate diagnosis, integrated care across primary, secondary and tertiary levels, and improved access to evidence-based therapy
    • Prioritisation of research, data and insight to advance lung health through innovations such as AI, real-world data, novel therapies and targeted research strategies

The coalition is continuing to establish its partner organisations and national projects.
