1 September 2026
The International Respiratory Coalition (IRC) is pleased to announce that the latest round of grants for national coalition projects is now open. The application deadline is 15 October 2026.
These grants support IRC national coalitions in delivering strategic projects that advance respiratory health and strengthen national advocacy. Grants of up to €50,000 are available, and four grants will be awarded in this round.
Who can apply?
To be eligible, coalitions must bring together at least five organisations with strong respiratory expertise across healthcare professionals, scientists/researchers, and the patient and lived-experience community.
It is strongly advised, though not mandatory, that the coalition also includes individuals with policy, health economics, or implementation expertise.
Previous project grant recipients
Several national coalitions have received support for projects, including work in:
- France, as the coalition builds momentum towards a national respiratory health plan; read about the French coalition’s progress.
- Greece, for its mobile lung health unit project, aimed at overcoming geographic inequalities in the country; learn about this project.
- The Netherlands, for a project focused on strengthening medical prevention through vaccination of persons living with a lung condition.
- Ukraine, for a project aimed at improving respiratory monitoring and awareness through screening campaigns, spirometry training for healthcare professionals, and a nationwide survey on respiratory health.
How to apply
Projects must be evidence-based, scientifically robust, patient-centric, and aligned with the IRC Manifesto and your coalition’s national strategy or roadmap. Applications should include clear milestones, measurable KPIs, and a transparent budget aligned to fair market value.
The online application form will be available on the IRC website from 1 September. For questions, contact the IRC project manager at irc@ersnet.org. Learn more about eligibility and terms and conditions.
Note: Applications for seed funding, which is intended to support national coalitions that are just getting started, are available throughout the year. Find out more here.
